- Name : Joint Development Bank
- The founders consist of Thai investors on behalf of Phomsuwan Silo & Drying LTD, by Khounying Souvanny PHOUAPHAYROJ joining with Bank of Laos ( in that time). At present it changes to Bank of Lao People’s Democratic Republic. According to the agreement of the president of ministerial assembly No. 04/PMA, on 21 January 1989 by HE. Kaysone Phomvihan, president of ministerial assembly and prime minister contracted on 2 February 1989.
- Registered capital 4.000.000 USD ( Four million US Dollars ) divided forThai investor 70% and Bank of Laos 30%
- The symbol of the bank is the interlocked heart image ( now changing to double lotuses), light blue placing over the Mekong River. It’s the symbol of Peace, Friendship and cooperation. The abbreviation name is “JDB”
- Head quarter located at No. 82 ( before No. 31 - 33 and 75/1-5 ) Lane Xang Rd, Chanthabouly District, Vientiane municipality, Lao PDR.
- Objective to carry out the work of commercial bank within the domestic and International
- Began to service on 3 October, 1989
- At first, the bank used all materials as the manual working system, now, Migrating to the computers working system, and using Lao National Banking Account System since 1998, at that time there were about 30 staffs. Now, there are about 92 staffs, including Board Director (From 31/12/2003)
- The bank has been serving to the general customers by using the credit card Through our Visa Center, and to be the representative in Lao PDR since 25/12/2002
- Later on 20 June 2003 the bank has served full option of credit card, which Can use all around the world and in the year 2004 the bank has served ATM, Which accepted global Visa and Master Card, JDB Visa and ATM Card (Sabaidee Card) and to be only one representative in Lao PDR.
- Bank staffs have proper uniform and use blue color as the agreement and suggestion of the president HE. Kaysone Phomvihan, for women wear blue Lao skirt and light blue long sleeve shirts, for men wear white shirt with blue necktie with bank logo and dark blue pants or black pants
- Bank has begun to serve the general customers by withdrawing system from Automatic teller machine (ATM) with automatic withdrawal card (ATM card), there are blue card and pink card. At that time on (04/01/2005) there were four ATM machines such as:
- First ATM Machine is in front of the Main Bank
- Second ATM Machine is at the Visa Center (That Khao)
- Third ATM Machine is in front of Hong Kong Restaurant
- Four ATM Machine is in front of Novotel Hotel
- Bank has served customers to buy mobile refilled card of ETL in the middle of March 2005
- Bank has served customers to buy goods and pay for services through ATM card around the middle of April 2005
- Bank has served customers to buy mobile refilled card of M-Phone at the end of April 2005
- Bank has served for the international Visa card holder to be able to cash from ATM machine around 20 / 08/ 2005
- Bank has joined with Lao Development Bank for the service of cash advanced from online terminal (EDC) at the Lao Development Bank’s branches through the country since the middle of October 2007
